Naxi means “people of the black,” a reference to their traditional clothes, and is a name that Naxi are happy with calling themselves. In the remote mountain of Muli town of Sichuan province, there is a Naxi ethnic group called Eya, where the villagers from birth to death always cleaved to Naxi people’s traditional custom of production, living and religion.
